Charming 1BR near Opéra & Galeries Lafayette

Cute studio apartment, will be back! Positive: Amazing location, close to the metro lines, loads of small shops and eateries at a pebbles throw! The apartment is on the third floor of a charming building. The two spaces are connected but still separate and very cozy. There are basics in the kitchen, even though I didn't get to use them. The shower is amazing after a long day of walking the streets of Paris. Def recommend! Negative: I wish there was air conditioning. I was there for the worst heat wave in history, so I know it's not normally like that, as well as most places don't actually have ac in France, but it would have been the cherry on the cake.

Paris is a place of great contrasts Positive: Very good location. 5-7 minutes from 4 different metro stations. Very kind host, very good communication. Negative: The biggest disadvantage; the apartment is on the 3rd floor of an old building with a very narrow spiral staircase; quite an unpleasant smell on the staircase. We were “forced” to book this apartment because 1 day before our arrival in Paris, the host of the already booked apartment (much bigger and nicer) cancelled suddenly the reservation; maybe the French way of behaving (Booking.com did not help us with anything, they just informed us). The apartment is about 22 square meters, bigger than a regular hotel room. Everything is very simple. With very little investment it could have been much better. For example: poor quality pillows and pillowcases whose zippers did not close. Only one set of large towels for 9 nights and one face/hand towel for 2 people. Clean towels but with some small stains that do not disappear when washed. Very small but clean bathroom. The bathroom mirror is placed high up. My wife is 160 cm and could only do her makeup standing on tiptoe. Small solid soaps in the bathroom, could have been bought a container of liquid soap (we bought it). The “kitchen” very very small. No kitchen towels (2 of these would have been very useful and certainly didn’t cost much). We bought large rolls of paper towels (they weren’t there either). There were no garbage bags either(we bought them also). The bed linen and towels were not changed normally(very unpleasant for 9 days). I talked to the host who promised to change them halfway through, but it didn't happen. Instead, I received a new set of everything, 2 days before departure??!! And they were really brand new, all bought then. Which I didn't use because neither my wife nor I sleep in unwashed bedding after buying it, nor do we use freshly bought towels without washing them first (maybe we're exaggerating but I think it's basic hygiene). In conclusion, if you want an absolutely decent price for a good location, with the above disadvantages, it's an option.
